What people are saying about us

"I felt relaxed and comfortable as I was in my home surroundings"
Beth (Panic Disorder - 8 sessions)

I found it better than in-person therapy I’ve had. The quality comes from the therapist, not the delivery method (e.g. Skype vs in-person). Gary (OCD - 10 Sessions)

"It’s actually more private than travelling to an office and worrying about explaining to family where you are going or thinking you might be seen leaving upset". Clare (Anxiety & Depression - 12 sessions)

“I would usually favour face to face treatment but this option is a fantastic vehicle to get EXPERT treatment in the comfort of your own home ESPECIALLY if your symptoms make it impossible to travel.” Sam (OCD - 15 sessions)

“A really fantastic service, great for busy people who need a little help to manage things. My sessions really helped me see things in a more positive, useful way and gave me peace at a difficult time.” Catherine

“Doing therapy online meant I didn't need to stress about having to leave work early/work different hours to fit in a therapy session each week - I was able to do it in the morning before I started work. When I had therapy in the past, I used to feel very guilty when I was taking time off to go to sessions, so this helped a lot not having this guilt on top of my anxiety!” Dan

“I thought it might be weird doing it over Skype but it was fine, overcome in the first session.” Anonymous

“I live in wales and access to getting good quality CBT/EPT for OCD is very limited. Whilst searching online I came across ‘My therapist online’ and emailed to see if they could help me. They carefully looked at all their therapists experiences to allow me to work with a therapist who was best suited to the help I needed”. Leanne

“Online therapy has worked brilliantly for me as it provided the flexibility I needed whilst working abroad and not able to meet during office hours. I couldn't be happier with the overall experience and only wish I had found my way to this therapy years ago.” Anonymous

"I'd been to face to face therapy before &  knew how the process worked. There really wasn't much difference to be honest, in fact, I felt more comfortable over Skype and it was much easier to fit in to my routine"
James (OCD - 16 sessions)

"I thought I would have to travel into London to see a specialist in Anxiety Disorders - this has saved me a lot of stress"
Ian (OCD - 10 sessions)

"Do it. The therapist I saw is a true professional committed to patients’ success and will help you help yourself. Under her tutelage I made significant gains against years of entrenched behaviour within 10 sessions". Gary (OCD - 10 sessions)

'I don't think I cancelled one session with my therapist during our months of therapy whereas in the past I have felt that depression or anxiety have been factors in me not making the journey to a therapist's office. In the comfort of my own home I felt therapy was more accessible' Jessica (BDD - 18 sessions)

“Online therapy is less intimidating than travelling somewhere and you are in familiar surroundings which helps you relax.” Anonymous

“Online Therapy with Hannah has totally transformed how I think about myself and others, the overwhelming negativity which had been present my entire adult life has lifted and been replaced with creativity, confidence and a more compassionate understanding of my own difficulties and those experienced by the people around me.” Anonymous

"There was no access to specialised therapy for body dismorphic disorder in Scotland or at least nearby and I felt I needed someone experienced in this area so my options were therefore limited. Online therapy enabled me to access a specialist from the comfort of my home" Jessica (BDD - 18 Sessions)

"It proved to be a very convenient way of accessing a therapist who specialised in my phobia and anxiety disorder, without the need for travel."
Beth (Phobia - 8 sessions)

"This service allows you to access expert help from anywhere in the country."
Jane (BDD - 11 sessions)

''My therapist made me feel comfortable, she was engaged at all times, she always faced the camera which quickly made me forget there was a camera in the first place.''  Jess (Emetophobia - 20 sessions)

"Just a few sessions of online CBT have been life changing for me and my family" Holly (Low Mood - 5 sessions)

“Sarah really helped with my fear of presentations and public speaking. I was asked to speak at a conference and was absolutely dreading it. The CBT sessions helped me deal with the anxiety leading up to the presentation and I believe, helped to keep me calm on the day. It also changed my outlook about future presentations. I would definitely recommend this type of therapy. As a busy, working mum, I found the online sessions great and I was able to fit the therapy in at convenient times” Anne

“My therapist online is a brilliant service. Thank you. It worked so well for me as I could see my CBT therapist outside of my work and family life. I was also able to see a specialist CBT therapist, someone I just would not have been able to access locally where I live” Poppy

Hello from Lisa,

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over 15 years mental health experience in the NHS.  I specialise in treating people with severe anxiety disorders such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

My Therapist Online is a service I set up in order to give you better access to convenient online therapy.  You can read more about my personal story here.

I believe that you should have access to the right therapist for your individual needs, without being limited by location and without needing to travel to and from appointments.  Therapy should be accessed around your lifestyle and should be delivered in a discreet way.  Online therapy is convenient, highly effective and very accessible.

I have over six years experience providing online treatment to know that online video therapy works just as effectively as traditional face-to-face delivery.  There is a growing body of evidence base to support this.
