BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist

Pronouns: She/Her

I am a cognitive behavioural therapist with over 11 years’ experience in working with mental health problems, in particular complex PTSD.  I have worked in both charitable and private sectors, initially working with military veterans for 8 years and then moving to work with people from all walks of life.

In my therapy with you, my aim is to understand what is happening for you right now, and to help you make the changes in your life that are important to you.  I have found that if we understand why we behave and think the way that we do, based on past experiences, it is much easier to make changes which are meaningful to us.

I have helped people with a variety of problems such as generalised anxiety, panic, depression, PTSD, social phobia, and OCD and use a variety of approaches in therapy. I believe that as individuals, we all prefer to work in different ways in therapy and will work together with you to find the most suitable way of working.  I take an open approach to therapy and will tailor each session to your needs at the time.

I am trained in Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy and Transformational Chairwork.

I have been delivering on-line therapy since 2022 and have found that this is an excellent way for people to access help; my clients are able to see me from the comfort of their own home, and this makes sessions more relaxed and flexible – something which is important for therapy to be effective.

Tracy’s Testimonials

Tracy’s Life-Changing Support: A Journey from Darkness to Healing

“ I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2013 and spent the next decade running around at 120mph—caught in a relentless cycle of NHS treatment, addiction to drugs and alcohol, and the emotional fallout from multiple tours in Afghanistan. The impact rippled through every part of my life: I was sectioned, arrested, attempted suicide, divorced, experienced homelessness, and became involved with criminal justice services. Each time I sought help through the NHS or military charities, the support often felt rushed—delivered by professionals who couldn't or wouldn't take the time to truly listen or understand what I was trying to say.

Opening up was especially hard. In the military, you’re conditioned to push through pain, bury emotion, and keep going—vulnerability is not the done thing. So when I first reached out to Tracy in April 2022, it was a leap I never imagined myself taking. Over the next 18 months, while I began to confront my addiction, I received therapy that genuinely changed my life. For the first time, I felt safe enough to talk—really talk—about what had happened and how much it was still affecting me.

Tracy’s support was exceptional. She gave me space to work through each issue at my own pace, without pressure or judgment—an experience I’d never had before. With her guidance, I began to understand and challenge the toxic beliefs that had trapped me in a cycle of pain and self-destruction.

Thanks to her unwavering commitment, I’ve made profound and lasting changes. Even now, 18 months later, that healing continues to shape my life. I’m deeply grateful—for her patience, empathy, and unwavering belief that I was worth saving. I genuinely don’t think I’d be here today to share this if not for her. I’ve since signposted others I served with to this remarkable woman—because healing should never be out of reach, no matter how deeply you believe it’s safer to stay silent.” Anonymous

What do each of types of therapy Tracy is trained in involve?

BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist
Tracy is accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), meaning she has met rigorous standards for training, clinical practice, and professional ethics. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours influence each other, and supports them in developing practical skills to create lasting change.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is a specialist form of CBT particularly effective for treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related difficulties. It involves gradually and safely facing fears or triggers (exposure) while resisting the usual compulsive behaviours (response prevention). Over time, this helps reduce anxiety and break the cycle of OCD.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps people live more fully and meaningfully, even when life is challenging. It focuses on accepting thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, while committing to actions that align with personal values. This approach can support emotional flexibility, reduce avoidance, and improve wellbeing.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT is designed to help people who struggle with high self-criticism or shame. It combines techniques from CBT with strategies to develop self-compassion and understanding. By cultivating a kinder, more supportive inner voice, CFT can improve emotional resilience and promote healing.

Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)
NET is a trauma-focused therapy often used when someone has experienced multiple or long-term traumatic events. It helps individuals process their memories by creating a chronological life story — weaving together difficult and positive experiences — so that traumatic memories become less overwhelming and more integrated into their life narrative.

Transformational Chairwork
Chairwork is a powerful, experiential therapy technique that uses different chairs to represent various perspectives, emotions, or people. Moving between the chairs allows clients to express unspoken thoughts, explore inner conflicts, and find new ways of understanding themselves. It can be especially helpful for processing unresolved experiences and strengthening self-confidence.
