About Jenny
I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 1996 and am registered with both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom and the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). During three decades of clinical practice, I have accumulated more than 20,000 hours of psychotherapy experience.
For much of my career, I specialised in supporting the psychological wellbeing of babies, children and families. That work gave me a deep appreciation of how our earliest relationships and experiences shape emotional development and continue to influence us throughout life. Although my practice has evolved and I now work predominantly online with adolescents and adults, those years remain central to the way I understand each person's story, bringing a developmental perspective to the work we do together. I am interested in the ways in which we are shaped and influenced, not only by our biology, genetics and early history, but also by relationships, context, culture, online engagement and the wider world in which we live.
Today I work with anyone experiencing psychological distress, and my particular specialism is helping people to manage stress and anxiety. I also have a special interest in supporting people living with autism or ADHD, and those caring for loved ones with these conditions. Alongside adult psychotherapy, I continue to offer parent therapy for families experiencing difficulties with babies, children or adolescents, drawing on my extensive experience in early years and perinatal mental health. I also provide clinical supervision for psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced based & well researched talking therapy. It is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for many mental health problems.
It is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for many other mental and physical health problems.
CBT focuses upon how your thoughts and behaviours impact upon your emotions and physical symptoms.
CBT is collaborative treatment and typically involves doing homework tasks between appointments.
It aims to teach you to become your own therapist, teaching you tools so you can keep using the strategies and techniques you have learned after you have finished therapy.
-
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Combines mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy techniques to help individuals manage recurring depression and anxiety. It teaches people to focus on the present moment, fostering awareness of thoughts and feelings without judgment. -
A flexible approach that combines techniques from different therapeutic models, such as CBT, psychodynamic, and humanistic therapies, to create a treatment tailored to the client's unique needs and preferences.
-
Focuses on improving interpersonal relationships and communication. It is often used for depression and explores how relationship dynamics contribute to emotional distress, helping individuals build healthier connections.
-
Explores unconscious processes and how past experiences, especially in childhood, influence present behaviour and emotions. The goal is to increase self-awareness and resolve inner conflicts.
-
A structured therapy for managing intense emotions, often used for borderline personality disorder. It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness and focuses on skills like emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness

Parent therapy is support for you, as a parent, when things feel difficult with your baby, child or teenager. Rather than working with your child directly, sessions focus on helping you understand what might be driving their behaviour or distress — and how your own responses, history and circumstances shape the relationship between you. Many parents find that when they feel more understood and confident themselves, things shift at home too. It's not about being judged or told you're getting it wrong; it's a supportive space to make sense of family life and find a way forward that works for your child and for you.

Perinatal mental health support is specialist help for the emotional challenges that can arise during pregnancy and the first years of parenthood. This includes postnatal depression and anxiety, birth trauma, difficulties bonding with your baby, and the losses many families carry — including miscarriage and infertility. Becoming a parent is one of life's biggest transitions, and struggling during this time is far more common than most people realise. Therapy offers a safe, non-judgemental space to talk about feelings that can be hard to admit — even to those closest to you — and to find your footing again, for your own wellbeing and your baby's.
