Elena Georgiou
Counsellor & Person Centered Therapist
Pronouns: She/Her
“I hold an Honours Degree in Psychology, along with postgraduate training in person-centred psychotherapy, and I bring extensive experience supporting individuals through a wide range of life challenges. I am a registered member of the BACP and have been working in private practice as an online counsellor for the past four years.
My experience extends beyond private practice, with over a decade of working with individuals on a one-to-one basis, as well as co-facilitating self-awareness groups. I have been actively involved in supporting local communities, including working with individuals affected by cancer and their loved ones, people facing relationship difficulties, and vulnerable social groups. Alongside my counselling work, I also have experience managing clients within human resources environments, which further enriches my understanding of people and enhances my therapeutic practice.
As a counsellor, I am deeply committed to offering a supportive, safe, and confidential space where you can explore the challenges that may be affecting your well-being. My aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, navigate difficulties, and move towards a more balanced and fulfilling life. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring my work to your individual needs.
I believe that every person is unique and deserves to be met with empathy, respect, and genuine understanding. Creating a warm, non-judgmental environment—where you feel heard, accepted, and supported—is central to my work.
The therapeutic relationship is a vital part of the process. With this in mind, I work collaboratively, with honesty and openness, to build a strong and trusting connection.
I work with adults and couples, offering both short-term and long-term therapy. My approach can support you in developing greater self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity, improved relationships, and increased trust in your own decisions.
I offer support for a range of difficulties, including anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues, breakups, work-related stress, family challenges, and self-esteem.”

I’m very grateful.” Lidia
Creating a Safe, Non-Judgmental Space for Growth
“This was my first ever time using the services of a therapist, and I must admit I did have reservations before I started.
These reservations were soon put to one side, as Elena made me feel comfortable from the beginning of my journey and provided a space where I could express my feelings without judgment.
She showed genuine empathy in my situation and really helped me unlock a thought process to deal with the situation I was experiencing that I can now implement on a day to day basis.
I’m extremely happy with Elena as my choice of therapist and would both recommend her to others and use her again myself in the future if my situation requires it again.” Christopher

What is a Counsellor?
A Counsellor is a trained professional who provides a safe, confidential space for individuals to discuss their thoughts and feelings. They actively listen, offer empathy and guidance, and create a supportive environment. Counsellors specialise in various areas, prioritise the client's well-being, and promote mental and emotional health. They undergo education and training, focusing on holistic well-being and client-centered approaches.
What is person centred therapy?
Person-Centred Therapy, also known as Client-Centred or Rogerian Therapy, is a humanistic approach founded by Carl Rogers. It believes in people's innate potential for growth and self-discovery. Key principles include unconditional positive regard, empathy, and authenticity. Therapy is client-focused, emphasising active listening and self-actualisation. It avoids labels and dives into emotions and personal exploration. Non-directive, it encourages a holistic view of individuals. This approach helps with various issues, fostering self-acceptance and self-esteem. It's known for its safe and supportive environment for healing and personal growth.
