I am an Integrative Counsellor, Psychotherapist and EMDR Practitioner with over 13 years of experience. In my model of practice, I draw on different approaches: psychodynamic, humanistic, trauma informed therapy and EMDR, depending on issues presented, client's unique personality and their specific needs. I specialise in the use of EMDR, which is a WHO (World Health Organisation) and NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) approved, very effective and dynamic way of processing trauma and freeing clients from the destructive emotional and physical impact of past traumatic events.
I provide a safe, confidential and respectful space for you, the client, where you can be heard and understood. The aim of my work is to support and empower you in getting in touch with and exploring your feelings and thoughts and examining how different life experiences impacted who you are now. This work on connecting to, and safe exploration of, who you are becomes the foundation for processing emotional blocks and gaining deeper awareness of yourself. This can enable you to arrive at the place from where you are can to make desired changes in your behaviour and start creating your life in a free and conscious way.
Over the years, I have worked in various settings with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds, including primary care, addiction field, charity sector, school based young people counselling and private practice. I have extensive experience working with: depression, anxiety, childhood abuse and neglect, trauma: single, complex and generational, PTSD, Complex PTSD, loss and grief, cultural and systemic issues, intersectionality, immigration, cultural adaptation, racial trauma, mixed race/multiracial experience, gender and sexuality, identity and relationships.
My approach to therapy is inclusive, relational, culturally responsive and anti-oppressive.
My primary education is in visual arts and I see therapy as a creative process. It involves two (or more) people in the act of co-creation of a better life for a client. This may mean a dipper awareness of their inner and outer world and improved ability to live a more fulfilled life.

What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced based & well researched talking therapy. It is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for many mental health problems.
It is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for many other mental and physical health problems.
CBT focuses upon how your thoughts and behaviours impact upon your emotions and physical symptoms.
CBT is collaborative treatment and typically involves doing homework tasks between appointments.
It aims to teach you to become your own therapist, teaching you tools so you can keep using the strategies and techniques you have learned after you have finished therapy.
